“I don’t get no respect!” said the jack crevalle. Maybe it was Rodney Dangerfield. The particulars don’t matter. The point is that jacks fight as hard as Rocky Balboa and grow larger than a mini fridge. That’s the ultimate gamefish, right? And yet some anglers still don’t respect them.

I have a favorite kick boat spot where I clean the trees from the shore anglers lake decorating… I’ve gotten so many killer swimbaits, cranks and frogs it’s ridiculous. My buddy calls it the Christmas tree… Funniest part is that there’s a barbless only and catch and release only sign and I watched a grown man cry because fish and game took all of his gear and arrested him (12 undersize bass)…I also pick up about 3 bags of trash every time I hit that spot…
