The Trump Administration is proposing large cuts in funding for the program in charge of coordinating state and federal efforts to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay Program, part of the Environmental Protection Agency, had a budget of $73 million in 2019 and $85 million in 2020. The Trump administration’s proposed budget cuts it down to $7.3 million in 2021.
For those of you doing the math, that would be a reduction of 91%.
