The case for ending the herring fishery

Whether it’s menhaden, anchovies, sardines or herring, the extensive harvest of forage fish has serious consequences for the entire food chain.

So while the world focuses on the plight of orcas the commercial herring roe fishery in the Salish Sea may be the final nail in the coffin of chinook, resident orca, and seabirds.
