TAKE ACTION! LIVE BLUEFISH MATTER

While I enjoy an occasional Montauk Burger, I release the vast majority of the bluefish I catch. Now the big brains at the Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council and ASMFC are considering changing the bluefish allocation–and increasing the commercial kill because recreational anglers are not killing enough fish to fill their quota.

Here’s where you come in.

The Council and ASMFC have scheduled scoping hearings and will collect written comments on the range of issues and information to be considered. Click here for a schedule of hearings. View the scoping document for background information on bluefish management and on issues that may be addressed in the amendment, as well as a description of the amendment process and timeline.

If you’re in the area consider attending a hearing otherwise please submit a comment.
