  1. Boote Flashback:

    Time: Mid 1960s.

Location: An Iver, Buckinghamshire, England, public-house much frequented by the filmstars shooting at the nearby and still-world-famous Pinewood Studios, only a few miles from where I am writing this at the western edge of London.

Personnel: My folks (my mother in a mink, French haute couture and stilettos, as were many of the other ladies), several drinking and unwinding filmstars and their total knock-out starlet ladyfriends, plus a very little me.

    Scene:

Shirley Eaton (the golden girl in the recently released Goldfinger movie), to me as she gave me a incandescent smile, a great lipsticky kiss on the cheek and a hug on seeing me with my Mum: “You’re lovely. I want to take you home!”

Do you know, young as I was back then and totally resistant to the kisses from Aunts and other female relatives plus all non-“rellies”, I was thinking “Really…?”
