Last fall we ventured to Maine to try and catch the fresh runs of pre-spawn brook trout and salmon flooding the tributary rivers of the Moosehead region. We were plagued by unseasonably warm weather and the fishing was poor. But what we found in the quiet wilderness was a reward in and of itself.
