Striped bass invasion in Labrador appears to be over

An invasion of striped bass in southern Labrador that some said were threatening Atlantic salmon populations appears to have been short-lived. Thousands of the fish were observed making their way up rivers and into ponds in 2017. While some striped bass were caught in southern Labrador this past summer, researchers were unable to catch even one fish to tag during four trips to the area.
