  1. No Animals or Fish were Harmed in the Making of this British Political and Piscatorial Disaster Movie.

“World Leaders in the Making of Meaningless Noise and in Chapo Consumption” –

“A lot of Pablo runs through it” – the conclusion I have been forced to come to after experiencing at first hand the semi-maniacal, “Me, me, me” self-promotion and egotism and high-handed “First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin” behaviour of some in the Posh Flyboy Fast Set that has rather taken over formerly gently and quietly reflective, easy-going old British flyfishing in the past twenty years.

Time for a Volume 11-plus morning playing of Jennifer Warnes’ wonderfully rocking version of Leonard Cohen’s great “First We Take Manhattan”, I think.

They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom
For trying to change the system from within
I’m coming now, I’m coming to reward them
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

This, together with an industrial-strength morning coffee or two, I find is more than enough to fire up (“Naturally quite sparky enough mental synapses already, thank you”) the old brain for me.
