Jim Beam agrees to pay fine for bourbon fire that killed fish in Kentucky River

Jim Beam was fined $600,000 by Kentucky’s environmental agency this month for a July warehouse fire that caused bourbon to spill into the Kentucky River.

The fire which was started by a lightning strike on July 3, caused the warehouse to collapse and an unknown amount of bourbon from 40,000 destroyed barrels to pour into Glenn’s Creek and eventually the Kentucky River.
