Issue #78 is here.

This edition will take us far north to the Land of the Midnight Sun. Tyler Schwab photographs the incredible character of Alaska in all its brilliance: vast mountainous landscapes, glacial views, abundant wildlife, and, of course, amazing fishing. Arctic char, coho salmon, grayling, rainbow trout, and sockeye salmon fill this classic essay.

Also up north, Canadian Amber Toner sets the stage for Alberta’s current environmental issue (Spray Lake Sawmills clearcutting critical habitat for bull trout) in her essay “Taking a Stand for Alberta’s Highwood River.” An avid angler and longtime resident of Alberta’s Kanasaskis Country, Toner shares her view from the lens.

Todd Moen’s latest T-Motion film Hopper Season, is a thrilling top-water chase for rainbow and brook trout on South-Central Oregon’s spring-fed Williamson River. Featuring fourth-generation ranch owner Tom Hyde, this is fly fishing adventure at its finest.

New Zealand’s Cedar Lodge, on the South Island near Wanaka, is the setting for Brian O’Keefe’s New Zealand- Part II essay. No one quite captures the essence of a place like O’Keefe, and here’s the true experience New Zealand offers. “…gorgeous mountains, lush green valleys, waterfalls, pastoral farmland, glaciers, trout water that blows your mind, smiling Kiwis, five-pound trout, ice cold beers, green-lipped mussels, helicopters, wineries, and so much more..” says O’Keefe. What more can you ask for?
