Cruise Ships Stopping At Christmas Island In 2020

Due to the Passenger Services Act, which required foreign ships traveling between United States ports to make at least one foreign port of call, Norwegian Cruise Lines started making regular stops at Fanning Island in the early 2000s. At one time this small atoll 173 miles from Christmas Island hosted 200,000 people annually.

Now the cruise ships are returning to the area.

In 2020 the cruise ships MS Oosterdam, MS Maasdam, and MS Rotterdam will be paying visits to Christmas Island.
