Conservation vs. Commerce

The steelhead angling community has begun to eat its own when it comes to responding to the abysmal returns on the Columbia. Sadly, this year’s BC steelhead returns are trending along the lines of the Columbia, and the divide on conservation vs. commerce has come to what was once a steelhead oasis in a desert of diminishing returns.

When it comes to the current state of steelhead, the baseline is shifting in real-time, and in BC, that includes the escapement numbers.
