While everyone was doing the happy dance after President Trump signed a major public lands bill his 2020 budget proposal released the day prior removed nearly all the money from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.

The Trump 2020 budget would slash the federal portion of LWCF from $156 million down to just $7.6 million. That closely mirrors the administration’s 2019 budget request, which sought a 95 percent cut.
