Imagine if flyfishing had started there … with luminaries like Theodore Gordon, H.M. Halford and G.E.M. Skues having to write their groundbreaking books with titles like “The Way of a Blue Bastard With The Fly” and intersperse their fine prose accounts of epic stalks and battles with multiple “Sh-t!”s and “F-ck!”s. … What an Angling Library I’d have … I might have even taken up that quiet-tap-on-the-shoulder, “strictly entre nous” offer forty years ago to become a Member of London’s Flyfishers’ Club….
