Things We’d Like to See At The ICAST Show

Today is the opening day of the ICAST trade show. Today is also the day the House of Representatives will vote on H.R. 200, the Strengthening Fishing Communities and Increasing Flexibility in Fisheries Management Act.  H.R. 200 is heavily backed by the American Sportfishing Association who own the ICAST show. HR 200 is lousy legislation that would substantially weaken the science and conservation measures of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act.

Here is a great blog post from Charles Witek that explains why HR 200 is such a bad bill.
