Suction Dredge Mining Reform Bill Passes in Washington

The Washington state Senate voted 37 to 10 to reform the state’s suction dredge mining rules. This important legislation is a huge win and protects habitat that is important to salmon, steelhead, and other native fish by prohibiting motorized mining in critical habitat.

The legislation now heads to Governor Jay Inslee’s desk, who is expected to sign it into law.
