Humboldt County to draft stance on future of Eel River dams

Humboldt County stakeholders called for the Board of Supervisors to support full removal of PG&E’s Potter Valley Project dams Tuesday after the utility company announced last week that it planned to auction off the project.

County tribes, fishermen, city officials and environmentalists calling for the nearly 100-year-old dam’s removal because it blocks about 150 miles of historic fish spawning habitat.
