2010/2011 Pacific Salmon Conservation Stamp Art Competition Winner

The Pacific Salmon Foundation is pleased to announce the winner of the 2010/2011 Pacific Salmon Conservation Stamp Art Competition.

This year marks the 21^st anniversary of the competition and, as in previous years, the judge’s decision was made difficult by the quality of the entries. After three rounds of adjudication, “Surface Tension” by Mark Hobson was chosen as the winning entry. Mr. Hobson is professionally trained as a biologist and self-taught as an artist. Based in Clayoquot Sound, his award winning paintings are simultaneously accurate and sensitive depictions of the many moods of wilderness and rural landscapes.
