This could be bigger than when Oprah donned her wading jeans

On tomorrows episode of the Bachelor Ben Flajnik, the 29-year-old Sonoma, Calif. winemaker takes his remaining 13 bachelorettes fly fishing.

Donning fly fishing waders, the group -- and their leading man -- wade into the knee-deep water, but fail to snag any sea life.

That is, until frontrunner Courtney comes on the scene. Angering her fellow contestants when she pulls Flajnik aside for a one-on-one casting session, Courtney pours on the sap after catching her own fish.

The Four Stages of Fly Fishing

A wise man once told me that every fly fisherman goes through 4 distinct stages of fly fishing throughout their fishing life.  At first I thought that he was simply spitting B.S., but I have recently realized that what he told me is totally true.  Every fisherman has their own style, their own favorite fishing spots, and their own attitude towards the sport.  So without further adieu, here they are.  The four stages of fly fishing.

Psssssst - Can I interest you in some prime red-ruffed fruit crow?

A 22-year-old American was arrested earlier this week for the alleged theft of 299 rare bird skins from a British museum. Authorities believe the young man was selling the pelts to people who tie full-dress Atlantic salmon flies.

The young American - Edwin Rist of Claverack, N.Y., a student in London - knew full well the value of the birds he's accused of stealing from the Natural History Museum at Tring. Rist had been a salmon fly tier since his mid-teens. The flies he tied often contained period-accurate feathers, which he reportedly purchased with money earned by doing odd jobs.

The next time you see an old mount or ladies hat at your local yard sale consider this:

Most of the feathers available legally were plucked from old taxidermy mounts or Victorian-era ladies' hats, and routinely sell for $8 to $15 or more per feather.
