Aug SOTM Entry: FL Grass Carp

Hey Chum,
Attached is a shot of a grass carp I caught on vacation in Florida last week. I saw him tailing by the shore and casted out a chunky orange cone head with rubber hackle in his direction. A few light strips later and he sucked the fly up. A 25 minute battled ensued and once I finally had him landed I was in complete disbelief, as was my boyfriend. We weren't able to weigh him but I would say he had to be close to 30lbs, I could barely lift the brute.
Hope this is slab worthy!
