House Bill 2338: Felt sole wading boot ban in Oregon state legislature

This bill would take effect in 2015.

One of the best quotes I've heard on the felt ban movement sweeping the nation.

"It is the equivalent of trying to ban shot glasses to prevent drunk driving."

Maybe we should start a new grassroots organization to fight this big government intrusion into our private sector angling lives?

Remember, If felt is outlawed, only outlaws will wear felt.

still in discussion, but the state of Maryland is apparently going to ban felt this year, as well.

I think we need to do whatever is necessary to prevent the spread of intrusive species. I think it is a reasonable idea.

Fishing in sticky rubber means you don't have much to live for.

The first step to banning all wading right here.

This is just another of the many steps to ban recreational fishing in Oregon to all but those who can afford it. Soon they will implement 'parking passes' to park along the Oregon 'wilderness' highways, followed closely by requiring permits to fish various streams.
But we have to look at it correctly...
They're from the Government, they're here to help!!!

Just another example of the death of common sense. If there weren't so many rich noobs running around from state to state country to country without cleaning up their gear, we wouldn't have these issues. Most 'involved' anglers I fish and chat with are well aware of their potential impact. Banning felt won't solve anything. I use felts because they're safer. Plain and simple. Won't catch me wearing rubber. Oregon just (potentially) lost my tourism dollars.
