And you thought the Missouri trout opener was crowded

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on a frozen river in Korea in to drill through the ice to hook mountain trout - or even fish for them with their bare hands .

Wow! No more mountain trout in that section of river or that whole river for that matter.
They do this every year - they must stock the hell out of them or something. Every friend of mine that went got into at least one...
Oh, and this lasts for like 10 days - so it's not just one day like this...
That doesn't look enjoyable to me. It would be nice to visit Korea but I would not want to even be around that area when that crazy fest is going on. Way to many people for my liking.
Almost but we fly fish shoulder to shoulder. Which can be very hard. Especially if the guy next to you is left handed & your right handed.
I never fish shoulder to shoulder with strangers. Or with friends or relatives most of the time. Move up or down river to a different run or hole. There are unwritten rules of fishing and giving a fellow angler room is one of the top ones if not the top one. These rules are not being followed or taught it seems to me. I don't care what the people do over there. But here, in this country, people should know better than to walk in on someone without asking. Since Rob brought up shoulder to shoulder that's my feelings on that.
HELL, that looks like a lot of fun to me. LOL
It's all about the BBQ and the Soju! Get smashed and barf into your hole! You gotta imagine South K is the size of Indiana except with 55 million people.
this is the cherry trout festival in eastern Korea. I fly fish here regularly and it’s like this 15 days out of the year, and rest of the year is pretty quiet (never shoulder to shoulder since none of these tourist actually fish rest of the year). Only that section of the river is sectioned off and yes, it’s stocked with equal amount of fish. Think of it this way, for small village, the festival brings in nearly 1.5 million people – not too bad for a small town business.
