Sept Slab of the Month Entry: Norwegian Pollack
Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 12:00AM

It's official. There is literally and figuratively something in the Netherlands water. If you've been paying close attention the last 6 months on the Chum - the Dutch are commanding a global respect for an extraordinary level of fishiness. The Chum invites the rest of the world to represent.
Here's the entry email as we received it:
Hi ,
On our one week saltwater flyfishing trip to mid-Norway , this was one of many pollack we caught (this one is de largest we caught...can be a Norwegian record on fly tackle , but can't find any info about that on the internet). Doesn't matter though , it's a monster , it was a great fight and moment , and it's swimming the Norwegian fjords again. My fishingbuddy Eric van de Berg was the lucky angler.
Good one for slab of the month September i think.

I have never seen a Pollack "member of the Cod Family" that big! Nice fish, sheew on a belly boat what a riot!
That looks like epic fun, excellent slab-o entry.
now THAT is cool. nice fish
Hey Goldmember.....
I'm from Norway and have fished for Pollack, Haddock and Coal Fish (all related species) with a fly rod and can say it's a lot of fun. That's a pretty big Pollack, but they get bigger!
Nice, and bonus points for it being as big as Kevin Pollack.
looks like a swawfish.
Very nice fish. Nice to see the wide variety of fish getting posted as of late.
