    GoFISHn

GoFISHn, a new social network for anglers, is scheduled to go 100% public today. We got an invite to sign up as a user on the beta site and despite our skepticism about a "Facebook for anglers" these guys just might pull it off.  Hit the link and see if they're live yet, if not, bookmark it and check back for launch and get signed up.

One big focus of GoFISHn is to help small businesses -- guides, charter operators, lodges, outfitters etc. overcome the difficulties of establishing a cost-effective marketing presence online. Many spend more than they need to for inferior results. We adopted some of what Facebook does, plus a lot of knowledge about how Google works, to build a marketing platform that's meant to make it easy to generate tons of posts that score really high in Google -- and hence drive potential customers to our small business profile owners. We'll see how it goes. I come to this from starting companies and new businesses online for 15 years in NY and Silicon Valley, on my own and at Disney and Time Inc. Feel free to contact me if any of this of in interest to you. Thanks to Moldy Chum for posting news of our venture. (BTW, Chrome support is coming...)
