Gettin’ Hitched


Talk about getting married in style! Tania O’Brien and Robert McCormack tied the knot in epic fashion last month in Boulder, CO. Here’s their story of how they ended up riding a drift boat through the streets of Boulder…

Rob and Tania met in college in the Finger Lakes of New York and fished for brookies on one of their first dates. Fly fishing is a huge part of their relationship and has taken them around the country, ultimately ending up in Colorado’s Front Range.

They got the old Lavro (same birth year as both of them) in order to float as much as possible on the Colorado and spent their honeymoon on the River. From St. Johns Church in Boulder to the American Legion, the couple rode in style on wedding day to confused road bikers, joggers, and folks working in their yards. Rob, who spent a number of years in southeast Alaska speaks against Pebble Mine and is also President of the Boulder Flycasters Chapter of TU – where there’s some great ongoing restoration projects and even more in the hopper. Tania is front woman for country band the Dusty Catfish, who is known to play fly fishing get togethers and conservation fundraisers throughout Colorado (
