Fly Shop in Redding burglarized

The Fly Shop in Redding was burglarized early Thursday morning at 6:30 am, minutes before the store was set to open.

The two suspects, who smashed the front glass door of the shop, stole around 10 fishing rods and about 12 reels. The prices of the fishing rod costing close to $1,000. And the reels ranged from $800 to $1,200. The total of the stolen equipment around to $9,000, according to the Fly Shop HR Manager, Terry Jepsen.

There is surveillance video of the robbery which was given to the Redding Police. Jepsen believed the thieves knew what they were doing and had been to the store two weeks before the robbery.

  1. Having been – “WHAT!?” – dazed and confused by the price of top-end tackle for a couple of decades now, I am pretty certain that I am not the only law-abiding fisher who has considered the possibility a Point Break-style heist.
