Columbia summer steelhead in even worse shape than thought

An unprecedentedly low summer steelhead run on the Columbia River took a dramatic turn downward Monday when biologists from Oregon and Washington said the front — and largest — part of the two-phase run is even worse than expected.

To protect the poor run anglers in Idaho will not be allowed to keep any steelhead, catch and release will be permitted.
